A New Year: The Old Must Pass Away

Hello my friends!

The last few months have been crazy busy as I have been adjusting to being back in the U.S., spending time with my family, and preparing for future plans.

As many of you may know, the last year has been full of new experiences, new friendships, and all kinds of changes. I met and began dating my now boyfriend, returned to India for a three-month stint visiting and assisting several organizations who are doing wonderful work promoting the well-being of thousands of Indians, and came home! Whew!

Over the past several months, I have been contemplating many questions, most of them along the lines of these:
What now? Where to next? What do I do with what I have learned?

Those questions are largely unanswered as of this moment.

And yet, as many of us know, when one comes to the point of considering such questions, there is a high chance that some potentially major changes will result.

The old must pass away.

One of the biggest areas I have been contemplating is this blog. I have been an on again, off again blogger, struggling hugely with writer's block among other things. So, should I continue to run this blog?

On the other hand, I love writing and sharing my experiences, thoughts, and lessons learned with you, my readers. I do see this as an opportunity to encourage you in your walks with the Lord and teach you about some of the things I have learned about in my travels to India. And, I do believe that God has given me this platform, and the ability to write about Him, so that I can serve Him through it.

All of that said, here are some of my conclusions:

1) I do want to continue blogging. But, I also want to see this blogging thing grow, and reach more people like you who want to learn to love Jesus more while gaining an understanding of how God is moving around the world.

2) My vision for the future is expanding - it's not just about India (though India will play a major role in my future), it is about seeing people from all over Asia come to know Jesus.

3) I want to create resources which will help you (and any future readers) grow in your faith, learn about missions (especially in the context of Asia), and be empowered to teach others!

After researching my options and discussing some of these things with other bloggers, I have concluded that I will need to either completely revamp this blog OR form a new blog.

Due to this, I have decided to discontinue my usual posting on this site (There and Back Again) for the time being.

So that the new can come.

Enter Redeeming Asia.

I have been working over the past couple months on some preliminary development for my "new" blog, which I am titling Redeeming Asia, and I am hoping to get it up and running by the end of June 2018, possibly even sooner than that.

In the meantime, please feel free to continue visiting There and Back Again. I have updated the pictures and added some other information to most of my posts in preparation for this transition.

AND, you can follow Redeeming Asia via Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.

Once everything is finished in regards to either a new blog site or a revamp, I will publish a post here to announce it!

I hope you will continue to follow my blog and life ventures!
